Please refer to this article that was just published in the L.A. Times re a holiday crackdown on drunk driving in Los Angeles County from now until New Years Day. Also, if you wish to view an important source of information on regional and countywide press releases for roving patrols and DUI checkpoints, go to California AVOID – a California Office of Traffic Safety website – it is simply the most comprehensive site I have seen on the subject.
I have cut and pasted most of the L.A. Times article below. Please do not assume that the locations for the patrols and checkpoints are necessarily complete and accurate. What I would do is check daily for press releases published in local publications, and city and county websites. [Please note that one of the requirements in the seminal legal opinion Ingersoll v. Palmer is the that there be "advanced publicity" prior to any DUI checkpoint.]
